Recently, I was honored to be invited by Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati to address the Senate on the occasion of my upcoming retirement. This was truly an honor because it is the first time in the history of the General Assembly that a sitting Speaker of the House was invited to address the Senate. The Office of the Speaker of Pennsylvania is the oldest elected office in the nation. I want to sincerely thank Senator Scarnati and the members of the Senate for this historical opportunity and for the warm welcome I received. You can view some portions of my visit and my remarks in this video.
